15 Days of Valentine’s Challenge

15 Days of Valentine’s Challenge

As a young girl, I would dress up in oversized dresses and heels and prance along the driveway singing at the top of my lungs, “SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME!!!” I was in love with the idea of love and what that would mean in my life. To be loved by someone who would choose to spend their whole life with you? What joy! How amazing! Now, I look at my husband and my heart is full.I have been blessed with a man more perfect for me than my daydreaming child mind could have imagined. Not a perfect man mind you – but a man I know God created with me in mind.

Our marriage is not perfect but God has used, and shapes, every mistake, every “I’m sorry,” every kiss, and every day into a beautiful example of His grace and goodness. My thoughts on love NOW are different from my 7-year-old mind – they are better. Maybe not perfect, but better.

So now, February is coming and with it comes “the day of love.” Valentine’s Day. Some hate this holiday and some love it, and others simply tolerate it.

I personally don’t mind it either way. I attempt to love my husband in little ways every day so he knows I love and appreciate him (no, I don’t always succeed) – but Valentine’s Day is basically a “set in stone date night” and I’m not complaining about that!

But lately, I have been praying and struggling through heart issues in my own life, and my sweet husband has been nothing but supportive through my hormonal upheaval. So, I feel the desire to TRULY do some things to remind Kyle just how much he means to me! HENCE – my 15 Days of Valentine’s Challenge.

My idea stems from the 12 Days of Christmas, with a different item being given every day until Christmas. But instead, I’m doing this with Valentines. Every day until Valentine’s Day I have come up with something different to show Kyle how much I love him and all he does for our family. Nothing big or expensive, but simply ways to make the month of February especially meaningful.

Do you want to join me in this challenge??

I would love for February to be a month of joy and love for all of the men in our lives! God has blessed us and is the epitome of love – let’s share some of that! <3 <3

February 2nd:

Write a little love note and put it somewhere he will find during the day – his coat pocket, wallet, or on his desk? Or set a secret note on his phone to go off at a certain time!

Clean his car or truck for him and leave a couple notes on his dashboard. (Need some help with love notes? These love note cards can help!)

February 5th:

February 6th:

Place sticky notes around the house where he will find them – listing the things you love about him! (These sticky notes are way cute!)

February 7th:

Turn on his favorite sport or movie (without being asked) and sit and watch it with him – actually watch it with him. Not on your phone, etc.

February 8th:

Before he leaves, turn on his car and warm it up for him. Leave his favorite candy on the seat with a love note for the day!

February 9th:

Bring home a rented movie and take out food that HE likes!

February 10th:

Post something on social media about him! Take some time to brag about your awesome guy!

February 11th:

Give him a foot/back massage after work.

February 12th:

Put something nice/sexy on and surprise him after the kids go to bed! (Dillards has some really nice options in this department 🙂 )February 13th:

Turn on music and dance together (or if you aren’t a dancer, play a game! Some favorites of my husband and I are cribbage, Yahtzee, Tenzi, a favorite puzzle, Mexican Train or sometimes we flip on Mario Kart Wii) 🙂

February 14th:

Make his favorite dinner/dessert combo complete with candles, a tent, music, sparkling cider, etc.  – make it romantic if you’re staying in or enjoy a night out for Valentine’s dinner!

February 15th:

Bring him coffee in bed again. Valentine’s day is over, yes. But it’s always good to do and say little things to our guys on a consistent basis! We shouldn’t need a national holiday to remind us!

Now Ladies – I do realize that every man is different! Adjust your challenge to your lifestyle, gravitated towards the things you know your husband will love! And most importantly,  remember to pray for your man! Nothing could be more powerful and more loving than to be a wife that prayers over her husband.

Let’s pray together and watch what the Lord can accomplish in our marriages this February! 🙂
